The people of Zanzibar are of diverse ethnic groups, Swahili mostly but also populated by Arabs and a minority of Asians originally from India.
Zanzibar exports cloves, other spices, seaweed and butterflies! it also has a large fishing and dhow production. Tourism is a major foreign currency earner and is one of the leading economic sectors.
Busara Music Festival is currently Zanzibar's most famous event that is held every February.
